Coach

We have some sad news this past weekend. Coach Nabhan passed away early Sunday Morning. An icon is gone. Here is a quote from someone that Coach had mentored in his High School Days and after. Mike Jacobs has said it was fine to use this eulogy to a fine man.

“I understand that with the positions Coach was in since 1959 there must have been many, many kids he helped . . . but you guys will never know the extent and the depth that he went to bat and stood next to me and truly turned my life entirely around and this was in 1960 when almost everyone was already kinda OK at WIRT!

Some of you will recall I never had a dad since I was 6 months old.

I love you COACH . . . I had an occasion about 4-5 years ago to tell him and I did . . .! It embarrassed him a bit when I had a tear in my eye but I didn’t care as we hugged.

Bless you & Rest in peace, SIR!!!!

My best to his son and his family . . . thank you for always sharing your father!

Mike”

Feb.25 storm

Well another storm that had to cleared when I woke up this morning it was snowing and blowing and didn’t look like it was going to quit anytime soon. This afternoon my sister and I did snow detail with the two snow-throwers that we have and use. If this works right maybe a picture of the one machine can be placed in the body of the post and then have the rest of the pictures in the new gallery plug-in.

Road Scenes

Tuesday I went to the village and brought the digital camera in order to take some pictures of the area. They have been uploaded to the my gallery which can be found on the right side of the page under My Favorites. At least the roads where clear of all the snow and the pictures are pretty good.

Night Winter Scenes

I forgot to upload these and in fact had to resize them before they could be uploaded to this gallery since they are in the newer gallery. These where taken early February 2011 and of course at night. I for one will be very glad when old man winter is over and spring begins and then Summer.

Power Outtage and now a Snowstorm

This weather is unreal. Last night because of the high winds there was a power outtage from about 11:30 PM until the wee hours of the morning. The bad part is that we were trying to update this blog and add a widget for Flickr so visitors can see the flickr picture. Luckily most of it was done as far as the downloads and settings and such so all was not lost. Then sometime during that time it began to snow and that along with the still high winds and cold is really a drag.

I  had to go out side in this today to take some pictures and fix one of the gates in the fence so the critters don’t escape. And of course dressing warm was the order of the day. Hopefully I can insert some pictures in here of at least the storm. The digital camera doesn’t take pictures of black-outs. You can actually see the blowing snow in the pictures below.
