Stella and I,

I took our new puppy Stella to the Borodino parade Sunday. J.Green who has her own web site managed to take a couple of pictures of Stella and me. She was a bad puppy and would not hold still so I had to take her home. These pictures are in My Gallery on the right side of this blog under animals. Hopefully I’ll be able to insert them here in this post.

MEMORIAL DAY

( More than just a day off work )

M is for the memory we have of those who put their lives on the line to give us the freedom and privilege of living in this blessed nation….

E is for the enduring gratitude we have for the sacrifices these men and women make for those who stayed at home….

M is for the merit we recognize in those who serve our nation when such service comes at such a high price….

O is for the obedience we honor when those in uniform follow orders that may, and many times do, cost them their lives….

R is for the reverence we give to the thoughts we have on this day, or any day, when we remember those who give so much….

I is for the integrity we salute when those in uniform stand up for all of us even when some of us do not stand up for them….

A is for the allegiance we have to the nation that these brave warriors fight and die for….

L is for the love that goes with those who are in harms way, and who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for you and me….

Offered respectfully by,
W. Larry Chapman, Jr.

A new Puppy,

Good news . We have a new puppy. Mom and Mary Jane drove up to Malone,NY to our other sister’s and visited for the weekend of May 3, and picked up our new puppy Stella. This is a first as we haven’t had a new puppy just a few weeks old in many a year. She is a handful and very rambunctious. I don’t have all the pictures downloaded yet that have been taken of Stella since we got her so will insert the picture that the people whom we bought her from supplied.

Maybe I can get this correct this time. On the 25th of April we had to have out beloved Schnauzer, Amy put to sleep. She was a pretty sick doggy and she passed away in my hands as the veterinarian administered the medicines.Amy was my Mom’s little doggy and everyone took this very hard. Here’s her picture. I hope.

US Navy Seal Mike Monsoor – Awarded the Medal of Honor

“I can honestly say that as a Pastor I rarely find myself “speechless”. However this is one of those times. After viewing the video tribute to Mike Monsoor I am just that…Speechless. There are no words to express the profound sadness and yet great…pride, honor, appreciation, humility, indebtedness, glory, at the sacrifice of this young man. Know that this story will be retold at least from one pulpit this next Sunday and that the prayers of at least one Church will go out for the family and friends of this great soldier.”

March 2008 updates

It has been a spell since I have posted anything in this blog I know but untowed things have been going on. One I had to buy a new computer the end of October and set that up and get all the programs and applications off the old crashed unit to the new unit. Then it was T-Day and then Christmas and winter all at the same time. Next a lot of upgrades and adjustments to said computer and more.

And it’s still winter and freezing cold with snow here in CNY. All you people that I exchange email with know that so I don’t have to go into details for that.I was able to add some pictures to the My Gallery on the right side of the blog and will add more in the next few weeks. Mostly of some of the animals and maybe a few family and snow pictures. So keep checking back to see what has been added. In the meanwhile I’ll try to post more often as things happen here.

Take one minute to help marines

Blackfive’s Grim interviewed Marine Colonel Simcock, Commander of RCT-6 in Iraq. This is what Col. Grim asked that will only take a minute of your time:

COL. SIMCOCK: (Chuckles.) I’ll tell you what, the one thing that all Marines want to know about — and that includes me and everyone within Regimental Combat Team 6 — we want to know that the American public are behind us. We believe that the actions that we’re taking over here are very, very important to America. We’re fighting a group of people that, if they could, would take away the freedoms that America enjoys.

If anyone — you know, just sit down, jot us — throw us an e- mail, write us a letter, let us know that the American public are behind us. Because we watch the news just like everyone else. It’s broadcast over here in our chow halls and the weight rooms, and we watch that stuff, and we’re a little bit concerned sometimes that America really doesn’t know what’s going on over here, and we get sometimes concerns that the American public isn’t behind us and doesn’t see the importance of what’s going on. So that’s something I think that all Marines, soldiers and sailors would like to hear from back home, that in fact, yes, they think what we’re doing over here is important and they are in fact behind us .

The Marines have set up a special email address to send a supportive message to the Marines is: RCT-6lettersfromh@gcemnf-wiraq.usmc.mil. The emails are being scanned by the PAO before being printed and distributed to individual Marines.

And, guess what?, the RCT-6 has a blog at Fighting 6th Marines

BLACKFIVE ADDS: AFTER A FEW DAYS, WE HAVE ONLY GOTTEN THE MARINES ABOUT 2,000 EMAILS. WE COULD USE SOME HELP IN GETTING THE WORD OUT.
