…My Critters, My Friends

Another Day, another dollar

Spent most of the day painting. It’s a job I’m infinitely skilled for, I have to admit. Steady eye, steady hand and a little music and I can go all day. The color sucks though! Almost a shitty brown. But since it’s in a bathroom I suppose that’s good. Last year, after the regular cleaner had to retire because of back problems, Jim and I did a fair amount of bathroom cleaning. On three occasions more than the normal amount of cleaning was necessary. When I tell you it was everywhere maybe your get my drift! It was as if a toddler had been let loose. The problem was that these bathrooms were used by the summer stock theater goers. The depends set!!! I personally felt as if I needed to be steam cleaned and sanitized once the day was over. Ick.

The war goes on. V.Tech is recuperating and Boris Yeltsin died. Kucinich is threatening legislation to impeach Cheney. That’s about as threatening as a descented skunk, huh? Great idea though!

Well, hope you all made a dollar or two today.

This Good Earth

Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow? Well, I have little green thingies growing! And maybe my large black thumb won’t kill them all off when I go to transplant. Hickory, our Orange Tabby hasn’t shown any interest in devouring the catnip yet.

Today is my day for cleaning. A truly odious task. It’s been some time since I’ve felt the need, but the layers of dog fur are changing the color of the rugs! Yes, it’s been that long since a vacuum has ridden across them. I don’t feel guilty about it though and I think that’s grand. My niece, Suzanne, wrote a lovely post about how much cleaning she did in lieu of doing her taxes. Even not doing my taxes could interest me in cleaning! But now it must be done, damn it.

Okay, I’m hoping everybody’s day is as full of sunshine as mine is going to be.

HAPPY EARTH DAY

Spring has sprung!

Last weekend we had a nor’easter. Temps were in the low 20′s, over fifteen inches of very wet, heavy snow fell in two days and TODAY it was almost 80. Next week it will undoubtably be summer with humidities in the 80′s. Surely not related to global climate change…more likely excessive gases being released over the Potomac or therebouts.

My friend, Cherie, is driving home from Richmond via Iowa in her eighteen wheeler. All and all, I believe a deporable way to see the states, but she must, in order to survive. I want you all out there to send either one of us white light so that we can win the lottery! All my life someone has said, Nothing is Impossible, so step up to the challenge and make it possible. And Thanks for all your help.

I’m currently reading Sleeping with the Enemy by Robert Baer. It’s all about Saudi Arabia and it’s tentacles into our government. Well, duh, to state the obvious, who hasn’t known our elected officials tend to become corrupted any time money and power are involved. I’m tired of being angry about it though. It’s sort of a waste of energy…isn’t it? I’d certainly like something to change though.

Thanks to Tim now anyone who wants to make comments can. Just follow directions.\

Buh bye

Another day in Paradise

Hanging doors is a bitch. One wall tilts in…the other, out. The door doesn’t close flush, the new doorknobs, Mikey, (our illustrious leader) picked out of his nose have locks on the inside (which considering the intelligence of our current culture is totally ridiculous) and we had to baricade the entrance at the end of the day. Ouch. A job half done. And all day the leader cleaned the ticket booth. Yesterday, too. It’s enough to make me scream.

The Roberts Supreme court has reduced women to second-class citizenship, AGAIN. The battles the feminist movement fought in the early 70′s appear to be for naught. The religious right rears it’s ugly head again and there is no protest, nary a word about it in the MSM, tho lots was posted on Firedoglake and Blondscense.

Looking forward to hearing from friends. Of course you have to e-mail me because no one can post a comment.
